Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and creative Yaw Ray, is proud to announce the release of his latest EP, Kingsman. The project is a bold reflection of growth, manhood, and the sacrifices that shape an artist’s journey.
The Story Behind The “Kingsman” EP
“Kingsman” is more than music; it’s a mirror of Yaw Ray’s transition from adolescence to adulthood. It speaks of training, fighting, and standing tall in life’s battles. Across five songs: Sacrifice, 1990, Last Dance, Fears, and What If, Yaw Ray weaves a narrative that blends personal reflection with universal truths.
Yaw Ray explains, “This project is personal to me. It represents the sacrifices I’ve made, the lessons of the past, the fears I’ve had to face, and the hope that drives me forward. It’s about becoming a man not the boy people once knew, but someone ready to stand and fight for his place in the world.”
The Story Behing The “Kingsman” EP Album Cover
The cover art reflects the struggles of an African man in his late twenties and early thirties, caught between hope and uncertainty.
The patterns in the artwork show a journey with no clear beginning or end mirroring the confusion of navigating adulthood. The crown formed by his name “Yaw Ray” symbolizes responsibility, leadership, and the weight of being a breadwinner.
The monochrome palette represents unity, power, and the resilience of the young Black man.
Yaw Ray adds, “The cover is about what it feels like when you’re stuck between giving up and holding on. It’s about the overthinking, the pressure, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward.”
